Ian is in charge of communication at the Nordic Piccolo Festival. He graduated from the Malmö Academy of Music under Prof. Anders Ljungar-Chapelon and is currently studying a specialized course in flute interpretation.Ian began playing piccolo in Tivoli-Garden but exclusively played piccolo, not touching a standard flute for two years. He fell in love with the small instrument and chose to continue playing mostly piccolo. Ian has received instruction in piccolo from many local piccoloists, including Russell Itani and Katlijn Sergeant.
Additionally, he has taken lessons with Jean-Louis Beaumadier in France. Throughout his career, Ian has participated in countless performances and has played as a soloist both domestically and internationally.
